Paragon Radio Story Conclusion

And that was pretty much it. The story was never completed. I had a pretty good rough outline of what was going to happen and where the story would go. However, getting to those points was the problem. Our heroes would get tied into this long story arch that would have them chasing enemies from one to another. But there would be some key points in the story that sadly I had no idea how I was gonna fit in there and keep it the actual main focus.

1. Recruiting of the PR staff. Which lucky for me at the time wasn't to big to put into the story but was slowly growing. And some staff were leaving.

2. Our heroes still had to get office space and set up the station. But where would they find time for it as the story arch kept them going deeper and deeper and end up getting caught into a strang web of war amongst the villian groups.

3. Our faithful narrator would have to eventually be more then just a shadow. And learn about what already happened and what he did differently each time to try and change the future.

Eventually, our heroes would have an interaction with every single villian group in the game. They wouldn't even encounter the Rikti until the very last part of the second book. The first book alone was going to be huge story. And its in the last part of the book that will tell if history will repeat itself or not. As I said. I already completed the outline on how the story was going to be carried and such. It's done. Sadly, lack of support from the staff as well as the changing of the station to MMO Radio and changing the focus from a dedicated CoH station to an all MMO station caused the project to die. The only upside was that it still lead into the creation of a new project. But due to extreme lack of support. What I posted already like a month ago is all that is alive for those stories. Click on the MMO Radio tag on the side to find those stories quickly. Those had no outline or anything. Kinda wrote them as I went. MAybe ill rewrite the story outline and change all the names and locations to break it away from CoH and the disbanded radio station. Only problem is coming up with that many names and chaning the super hero abilities as well. Lotta work. Creative Work. Dunno if I even have it in me to try. The outline as it is , is already huge.

Track Nine Fire Doesn’t Hurt

Buddha looked through the window.

“I don’t see anyone so guess it’s safe to go through here.”

Inhibitor pushed the window open and slowly crawled in. He scanned the area.

“Looks like we caught their operations before anything has had a chance to begin. I see a few shipments scattered around and that’s it.”

Buddha and Radio Wave crawled through the window. The three stood on a broken catwalk. Every step caused it to creak and wobble. Radio Wave closed her eyes while walking forward. Her body absorbed all sounds.

As they made their way through the catwalk, Radio Wave could sense a strange presence in the room. She felt eyes watching her. She opened her eyes and looked around.

“What’s wrong, Hon?”

“Someone is watching us. It doesn’t feel natural either. Only its not directed at Buddha or me. It’s directed towards you, Inhibitor.”

Inhibitor looked at the shadows of the room.

“It’s probably nothing. We need to keep moving.”

Radio Wave looked down. Hellions dashed across the room moving large crates from trucks and into the warehouse. In the center of the room stood a Hellion with an orange-red aura. The three heroes watched as he signed papers and directed the merchandise.

Buddha pointed to the far side of the room.

“That’s not a Hellion.”

Inhibitor turned his head and looked at Buddha’s target.

“That looks like Joey Shirt. He works for The Family. But, why would he be here in Atlas Park.”

“Looks like they have new business partners.”

They watched as the Hellion in charge walked over to Joey Shirt and handed him a package. Joey shook the Hellion’s hand and walked towards the door. Buddha quickly stood.

“Damn! We can’t let him get away.”

Buddha leaped from the catwalk and into the center of Hellion traffic.

“Hey! Where do you think you’re going Joey?”

Radio Wave slapped her forehead.

“Damn it, Buddha. Think first.”

Inhibitor wrapped his arm around Radio Wave and teleported behind Buddha. Inhibitor pointed the palm of his left hand at the ceiling and formed a shield of energy around them. Radio Wave quickly extended her arms out to her sides. Sound stopped. Reality slowed down. She looked at Buddha.

“Go.”

Buddha leaped towards Joey. The air was sucked into a ball in front of Radio Wave. Time seemed to completely come to a halt. The small ball erupted and sound exploded into the air. Time returned too normal and the sudden shock of speed surprised Buddha. He slammed into Joey Shirt and pinned him into the wall.

The Hellion leader pointed at Radio Wave.

“Kill them!!”

Hellions charged in and opened fire. Bullets bounced off the shield and flew wildly into the air. Slammers and Slicers stepped through the shield. Inhibitor pointed his other palm at the oncoming Hellions and formed another shield around the two heroes. Radio Wave lifted her hands in front of her. The slicers lifted into the air. She then swung her arms to the side and the Slicers flew into the Gunners.

Buddha shook his head. He looked around.

“Crap. Had him in my hands too.”

“Buddha!”

A barrage of fireballs hit Buddha in the back. He turned and looked at his attacker.

“You little…”

Buddha charged forward and punched the Hellion high into the air.

Radio Wave continued to use Hellions as throwing weapons. She paused. She could feel herself appear in someone’s aim. She looked up and saw several Gunners stationed on the catwalk.

“Hib! Up there!”

Inhibitor dropped the shield and teleported onto the catwalk. A blast of wind shoved the Gunners on to their backs.

Buddha grabbed the Hellion leader by the head and flung him into the nearby crates. The Hellion leader’s body burst into flames.

Enemies around Radio Wave dropped to their knees as she dominated their minds. They howled in pain as visions of horror filled their thoughts.

The Hellion leader grabbed a hold of Buddha and set his body on fire. Inhibitor teleported behind Buddha. The air around them dropped in temperature and the flames on Buddha vanished.

The ground around Radio Wave shook and large edged rocks burst from the ground incasing the enemies in stone cages.

Inhibitor subdued the Hellion leader immobilizing him instantly. Buddha walked up to the Hellion Leader.

“Your name?”

“Bite me.”

“Your name?”

“I said…”

Buddha punched the Hellion leader in the stomach.

“I won’t ask you again. Your name?”

The Hellion leader coughed and tried to regain air in his lungs.

“Des…truc…tor.”

“Destructor?”

Inhibitor raised the oxygen levels so that Hellion leader could breath easier.

“He’s one of Battalion’s cronies. He’s nothing more then a middleman. Why were you dealing with Joey Shirt?”

“Hellion’s were promised territory.”

Radio Wave searched through Destructor’s mind.

“The Hellions are at war with the Skulls. There’s going to be a showdown with the Skulls in a few days. The Family has given them a new weapon to test out against the Skull’s. That’s all I can get out of him. Everything else in his mind is foggy.”

Buddha wrapped his hand around Destructor’s neck.

“Where’s war going to take place?”

“Go to hell.”

Buddha threw the Hellion into the rafters. Radio Wave hit him in the shoulder.

“Damn, Buddha, why do you do things like that. He’s our only lead.”

Inhibitor teleported next to Radio Wave with an unconscious Destructor.

“Looks like we’ll need to get us some new leads then.”

Radio Waved glared at Buddha.

“What? How did I know that was going to knock him out cold.”

“So what now genius?”

“Maybe, we can look for information out on the streets. Hellions aren’t too hard to find. We just need to rough them up a bit and get the answers we need.”

Inhibitor dusted himself off.

“So what are we waiting for?”

Track Eight We Don’t Need Your Help

Radio Wave glared at Solace’s eyes. She felt uneasy and scared in his presence. She had never felt such strong sources of evil.

Buddha leaned back in his chair.

“This place is pretty good. The food isn’t too bad. Now I know where to go eat when I’m in Atlas.”

Radio Wave stood from her chair.

“I’m sure the ideas you have are very interesting, but we have more important matters to take care of right now.”

“Whoa. Relax hon. Sol said he can help us out and I would like to know what help he can offer.”

“What we need is money? Tell me. Is that something you can provide? Are you going to give us a hand out just out of the kindness of your heart?”

“Please, Hon, just calm down.”

“I will not calm down. We have a lot of things we need to take care of and talking to some wrestler you happened to meet in a locker room isn’t one of them.”

“We at least owe him enough time to explain…”

“We don’t owe him anything. Now if you’ll excuse me I have a meeting with Inhibitor. He has real help to offer.”

Solace placed his cup down on the table.

“Inhibitor currently has no leads or any ideas right now. The battle in Perez Park has left him in such a devastated state of mind that he is unable to think straight right now. In awhile, he’s going to call you asking you to meet him in King’s Row. In his company will be his sidekick Cirga and one of his officers. A girl named A-Zay.”

Radio Wave looked at Buddha.

“I don’t trust him.”

Solace stood from his chair.

“I know you don’t. But, when you are ready to trust me give me a call. You can also find me in Skyway City. Currently, I’m under Mynx’s employment. So you can find me with her. Until then, read these.”

He tossed an envelope onto the table and then left the restaurant.

Buddha turned the envelope. It read: To Buddha and Radio Wave.

“This is in your hand writing.”

Radio Wave examined the envelope. She couldn’t remember writing on any envelopes. She opened it and read its contents.

“This is a lease.”

“For?”

“It’s a lease for office space. It’s located in The Gish. That’s where Inhibitor lives. We’ve signed it as owners, including Inhibitor.”

“We’ve signed it?”

“These are our signatures.”

“How is that possible?”

Radio Wave tore apart the lease and dropped the pieces into her glass of water.

“We don’t need his help.”

“Wait a minute. We could have at least…”

“I said we don’t need his help.”

Before Buddha could speak Radio Wave reached into her pocket to retrieve her cell phone.

“This is Radio Wave. Hi, Inhibitor, how are you? I see. Okay, we’ll head over soon as we can. Take care. Bye.”

“What’s up?”

“We need to go to Inhibitor’s place.”

Buddha knocked on the door. He could hear sirens and screams outside.

“Not exactly the safest place to live is it?”

Inhibitor opened the door. Buddha could see the sleepless night he had in his eyes.

“Hi you two. Come on in. Sorry if I don’t look presentable right now I’ve been awake all night. Every time I close my eyes all I can see are panicked heroes caught off guard and trying to stay alive.”

Radio Wave placed her hand on Inhibitor’s shoulder.

“All of us that survived that night are having those same nightmares. We can’t let them run our lives though. Rather then dwell on the battle we should wonder on why it happened. Most of those groups that appeared are enemies. There has to be something behind the whole battle.”

“Actually, I sent out Cirga to do some investigating. I have yet to hear from him though.”

Buddha peered out the window. He could see heroes speeding down the streets. The ringing from behind him then broke the silence. Inhibitor walked across the room and answered.

“This is Hib. Hey, how are you doing? I’m doing as well as I can. So what information do you have for me? Uh huh. I see. Okay I’ll head over there right away, thanks. You too. Take care.”

Inhibitor turned to Radio Wave.

“That was Gregor Richardson. Hellions are causing a disturbance in a warehouse in Atlas Park. Sorry we have to cut this meeting short.”

Radio Wave stepped forward.

“We’ll go with you.”

“I’ll be fine.”

“No you won’t. You haven’t slept at all. We’ll go with you and help keep you safe in case things go bad.”

“Okay.”

Buddha looked across the street from Inhibitor’s apartment building. He noticed a For Sale sign in the window of an empty building at the corner.

“Why does that address look familiar?”

Inhibitor looked at the building.

“That used to be an radio station. It was closed down when the Rikti attacked. I’ve wanted to purchase it, but someone already has owner ship of it. I guess they are trying to sell it as well and make a profit of some kind.”

Buddha looked at Radio Wave.

“This is The Gish you know.”

“I already told you. We don’t need his help. We’ll manage fine without him.”

Buddha sighed and followed the two towards the tram station.

Song Twelve

Since the attack in Perez Park I have made it my own personal job to continuously keep watch over these three heroes. Never would I let them out of sight. However, that proves difficult when trying to stay hidden and you don’t posses the art of invisibility.

Heroes all around have battled the Hellions. What makes this battle so special is the discovery of information that turned a simple mission to break up the Hellions party into a mission of trying to save the world. Many new heroes would join the ranks. The station would be set up with one day having the hopes of becoming the first radio station to broadcast specifically to super heroes.

Origins of Paragon Radio Ch 7

Track Seven A Hero Walks Into A Bar and Says Music

Buddha sat on the bench and stared at his locker.

“I can’t believe I’m back doing this again. Who am I kidding? Even if I put on a superior show I’ll still only make enough for a months rent. Just doesn’t pay to be a super hero.”

A tall hero walked into the room. His strange steel blue armor was void of all noise. Buddha would not have noticed him had he not sat down next to him.

“You look kind of down there buddy. Did the crowd boo your performance?”

“No, I haven’t performed yet.”

“I see. So what’s the problem then?”

“I don’t mean to sound rude or anything, but I really don’t feel comfortable talking about my problems with someone I have never met before.”

Hah, fair enough. I better go get warmed up for my match. Take care, buddy.”

“See you around.”

Buddha tosses his towel into the locker and stared at the ground.

“How much lower can a hero stoop too?”

He slammed the locker shut and headed out to the ring.

Buddha stepped into the light. The screams of fans filled his ears. His thoughts about people remembering who he was had been washed away by the giant signs and posters with his name and face on them. He knew the money from the match wouldn’t be too good, but he felt good inside knowing that to the wrestling fans he was still a somebody.

As he climbed into the ring he took a glance at his opponent. It was the hero that he spoke to in the locker room.

“Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the Arena of Heroes the one place in Paragon City where heroes can battle each other in a journey to become the prime champion hero of Paragon City. In our first match today we have someone that needs no introduction, you remember him as the only hero to wear the gold belt for three consecutive years. The tanker of ultimate power, Buddha!”

The crowd leaped from their seats and cheered. Buddha tried to keep from getting choked up and jumped onto the ropes and started to get the audience even more fired up.

“And his opponent. A hero that is new to the circuit. A tanker that claims to have even far superior strength. He is, the Unknown!”

The hero stood and waved. The crowd hissed and booed at him.

“And now let the battle for the gold begin!”

The bell sounded and the two heroes walked into a circle staring at each other. The armored hero lunged forward and tackled Buddha to the ground.

“I don’t understand why you are so down in the dirt. The fans love you.”

Buddha kicked the hero into the air and then leaped after him. He grappled him and prepared him for a pile driver.

“That’s not why I’m down.”

Buddha drilled the hero into the ring. He lifted up the stunned hero and slammed him into the ring. The hero slowly stood and anchored himself against the ropes. Buddha rushed forward. His opponent dropped down and flipped Buddha out of the ring. He climbed onto the ropes and elbow dropped off the top.

He lifted Buddha into the air and flung him into the barriers around the ring.

Buddha shook his head.

“You are going to pay for that one.”

“You talk pretty big for such a little man.”

Buddha pounded the ground and sent a shockwave at his opponent. While his foe attempted to maintain balance he jumped into the air and punched the hero through the barriers and into the audience. Buddha landed onto of the hero and started to unleash a fury of rapid jabs.

The hero kicked Buddha into the air and jump kicked him back into the ring. Buddha picked himself up and was knocked back down. The hero continued to kick Buddha while he struggled to stand.

The audience cheered for Buddha. His name was being chanted throughout the arena.

Buddha pulled his opponents leg right from under him. He stood and started to spin the hero around in the air. He then released his grip and the hero flew high into the air and crashed into the rafters. Buddha knelt down and then launched himself into the rafters.

“How about we give them what they want," Buddha thought to himself.

Buddha grappled with the hero. He then lifted the hero up and leaped off the rafters.

Buddha suplexed the hero straight through the center of the ring. The audience fell silent. A hand reached out of the hole. The hero crawled out of the hole and then lay silent on the mat. Buddha followed the hero out of the hole. He turned over his opponent and dropped onto of him.

Buddha sat on the steps to the arena and thumbed through his earnings.

“This barely even covers food for the month let alone rent and money to start up a station.”

Buddha’s wrestling opponent sat down on the steps.

“Hey, there. Not to bad a match I guess. Had to pay for repairs to the mat and the barriers and the rafters but still made some okay money. Especially, for a single match. I just might do this more often.”

“It gets tiresome after too many times. People start to think of you as a wrestler instead of a super hero. The whole thing is demeaning to us, but there’s no other way for us to make money quickly and in liveable amounts.”

“So why not just stop being a super hero and get a real job. Live a normal life.”

“Cause this is all I know. And besides, look at me. Do you think a normal person is going to hire someone that outmatches them in mass and power? How’s a boss supposed to intimidate his employee when his employee can punch holes through walls?”

“Good point. So become a hero trainer. Work at Freedom Corps. They get federal funding and the people that work there get real money and not this influence stuff that they give us.”

“I can’t anymore. My fiancĂ© has plans for us and for me to just turn my back…”

“You won’t be turning your back. You will simply be working to raise money to support the two of you. She’ll understand that.”

Buddha stood and dusted himself off

“I really need to get going. City Hall closes in an hour. It was nice fighting you…uhh…Unknown Hero was it?”

“My name is Solace. Solace Arzada. I have to head on that way as well. Mind if I join you?”

“I guess not. Might be able to find something to beat up on.”

“You mean arrest.”

Hah, yea. Arrest.”

Buddha stormed out of City Hall.

“You have to be kidding me! Security level ten!?”

Solace followed behind.

“Don’t let it get to you alright. It isn’t as hard to get as you think. Let’s just start up a temporary team and go find some crime to stop and before you know it we’ll have level ten access in no time.”

“It’s too late in the day. I just want to go home and rest and think about what to tell Radio Wave.”

“Don’t be so down.”

“You don’t understand. What she wants to do requires a heck of a lot of real money to purchase.”

“Then help me understand. What is it you two are trying to do?”

Buddha sighed. He looked up and stared at the giant statue of Atlas.

“She has this dream where we own a radio station and through this station we bring people together with the use of music. But, what makes it a unique station is the fact that it would be dedicated to all super heroes and it could be used as an information highway for super heroes as well. A person can make a call and the information would be announced right on the station and it would alert all the heroes that are listening. At first it sounded kind of far fetched. I mean there are lots of stations out there. And they all use music as a weapon. But, they are all run by normal people and so they only give information that would be useable by normal people. I wondered what information could we give and then something happened. An army of enemies attacked us. If the station existed then the reporter we had at the rave would have instantly alerted us and we could have got the news out into the airwaves in a matter of seconds. Heroes would have been there sooner and fewer heroes would have been lost.”

“I see. There is great reason for a super hero radio station. However, running a station isn’t going to be easy. You can’t do it alone. You need a team first.”

“I know. We want to at least have something to show that we are serious. That’s why I came to City Hall. I thought maybe I could register a group, but I don’t have the security level needed in order to begin one.”

“So that’s why you were at the arena. You need money for office space.”

“Yea. A lot of money in fact.”

“I might be able to help. There’s a restaurant in Hyperion Way called City of Gyros. Meet me there tomorrow for lunch. Bring Radio Wave with you. I’ll fill you in on my plans at that time. Until, then, you get some rest and just enjoy the rest of the night. Why not take Radio Wave to the theatre? The critics gave Elena four stars.”

“I don’t know if she’d be very interested. I might go though. It’s been awhile since I’ve gone to a play. You wouldn’t know it by looking at me, but I was in theatre back in college. I kind of liked it. It was a lot of fun.”

“Why’d you stop?”

“I accidentally smashed a hole through the stage and the lead actress fell in and sprained her ankle. Her father was the stage director.”

“Ouch. Well, anyways, go see the show. Enjoy yourself. And I’ll see you tomorrow. Take care, Buddha.”

“See you around, Sol.”

Song Eleven

I’ve been introduced to Radio Wave several times now and still our introduction has been a bad one. Her powers have given her the ability to sense many different things about a person and instantly judge them. The only person she has never been able to read is Inhibitor. His power is so far beyond Radio Wave that it’s like poking at a solid lead wall with a toothpick.

The alien technology that I wore confused her senses. In the back of her mind she knew she could trust me and that I was pure and good. But, in the front of her mind she sensed extreme amounts of danger coming from me. In her mind I am one of the greatest enemies she would face. The Rikti armor contained such evil in itself that it caused her to think of me as evil and not the armor. My mind didn’t help my situation much either. She saw the name Arzada Solace, yet I was traveling under the name Solace Arzada. She could see strange visions. Visions of events that had not yet happened. It took a while to get her convinced that the thought in the back of her mind was true and the ones in the front were wrong.
